Am I Crazy ??

i think i may have a social anxiety disorder, cus im always afraid to do anything new that involves people, i studder around people when i get nervous and say dumb stuff, and i freak out and start to sweat around people and find myself having to leave crowded areas

Am I Crazy ??
the symptoms you described dont sound crazy.
Reply:Well if your only question is "am I crazy?" then the answer is no.
Reply:Disorders and psychosis are different things.
Reply:No, but I think you're right that you may have a social anxiety disorder. This doesn't make you crazy. Talk to your doctor. There are medications that can help.
Reply:No ur anxious and probably in need of medication cause i have similar problem and is much better on medication. Talk to ur doctor I am glad i did.
Reply:crazy, maybe, you just need a good cover up so people dont think so

might i suggest drink large amounts or coffee

works my my friend
Reply:It sounds like you have the beginning problems of depression.

Get some professional help and then try and get more in amongst people by say joining more clubs, sports and groups. Take on more hobbies and interests to break the cycle.
Reply:Well, if that means your crasy then I'm crasy too, right along with you. I've never liked large crowds and it's always made me uncomfortable and akward feeling, messing up sentences and things like that also. When I was in school, the reading aloud assignments and things of that nature made me a wreck.
Reply:No not crazy but you probably have some type of anxiety disorder. They are common so don't be reluctant to talk this over with your doctor.
Reply:You'll never be old and wise if you were never young and crazy.

Check yo grip man I think you're holding on to tight.

There is only one recipe for you and that is crazy.

Reply:No, if you were in a manic state of mind you wouldn't be aware of it. Now as for the stuttering problem, you have an excitable nature which can be controlled. Stuttering is actually a slowness of speech and with careful attention you can progress normally. Here is a part of my personal life; I am a volunteer counselor in many areas of life and I am a person with a slowness of speech also. This had often left me in an embarrassing position especially when making a statement or a speech to others. After purposely slowing down my behavior I only have the problem occasionally and its quite humorous. Volunteer counselor Western Illinois University.
Reply:Hey Bronx

Crazy -- don't think so --- sounds to me like you simply haven't had the opportunity to adjust to the "socializing" thing for whatever reason !! And, if you are having a major difficulty in getting started AT it --- makes it kinda hard to get Better at it -- ya know !!

A lot of the socializing thing hinges around the core OF confidence in one's self --- and if you are basing a lot of your actions in these settings by the way its BEEN -- you're already at a disadvantage when you start up !!

The best place to build confidence in social settings is with much smaller groups of people --- even "groups" of two or three is a start !!

As you "get your feet wet" in these matters --- you're going to learn that YOU have about as much worthwhile STUFF to add to these gatherings as any of the rest of these jokers !! And, probably, in some cases --- MORE !!

Start small --- with one or two people who will simply let YOU be YOU --- get comfortable with THAT and somewhere along the way -- add a person or two to the mix !! You'll probably find that in a fairly short order -- your right at home with the larger groups !!!

Good Luck to you --- and stop this garbage of Crazy Talk --- you are a long way from THAT !!!
