Why am i so thirsty?
I am NOT a doctor, so don't get too worked up either way, but you might check with your doctor to see if you have gestational diabetes. Persistent thirst is a symptom of diabetes.

You probably don't, of course, but even if you did, it's not nearly so bad for you or the baby as it sounds. See a doctor.
Reply:Maybe you have gestational diabetes or something---have you told your doctor about this? you SHOULD... there are blood tests you can take. A gallon and a half is WAY too much to be drinking per day even carrying TWINS. Insationable thirst CAN be a sign of diabetes but don't worry about it until you talk to the doctor... but DO call him as soon as you can to get in to see him.

This is to LINDSEY below me----changing WHAT you drink won't help ----it's the AMOUNT of fluids she is drinking whether it be water, juice or soda---ANY fluids that are taken in in the quantity the questioner is taking them in CAN be dangerous--NO MATTER WHAT THE DRINK IS.
Reply:I would see a doctor pronto. I hope that you are urinating as much as you are taking in because if you aren't, that is a cause for concern. You really need to be drinking something else besides water because even too much water can kill you (try something like juices that are low in sugar, and orange juice, or gatorade). You might also have something called Gestational Diabetes, it isn't too bad, it is just a type of diabetes that people get when they are pregnant. It is seen with three things extreme thirst, extreme urination, and extreme hunger. It is treated by insulin. This usually goes away after one gives birth to their children and is caused by stress on the mother's body during pregnancy (pancreas cannot pull the workload) It could be a number of things that you really need medical advice on. Probably nothing bad, hopefully. But I would make an appointment soon.
Reply:Have you been checked for diabetes? That usually is warning sign for early diabetes is extreme thirst.Along with extreme hunger, dry skin, nausea, blurred vision and drowsiness. which can be masked by pregnacy.
