Is there anything wrong with me?

- I weigh myself constantly.

- While I push myself to run more during PE I think in my head "You are such a fat*ss and you need to run more to lose all that fat."

- I take a long time to pick out my outfit for school because I dont want to look fat in anything I wear.

- I usually wear sweats and sweatshirts to cover up my fat.

- I suck in most of the time.

- I always look in the mirror and see someone really fat and needs to lose weight.

- I constantly pinch my stomach and arms and thighs.

- I have recently had an eating disorder.

- I constantly look up information about losing weight.

I am 13 [almost 14] years old, 5'6", and 120 pounds. I do lots of sports including track, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. I am asian.

Please tell me if there is anything wrong with me. If so, what is it? help (:

Is there anything wrong with me?
You're not happy with your current weight it sounds like. I'm 5'7 122 and don't like it either. I'd rather be 115..
Reply:Hi There! The trick to stay fit is consistent exercise, be it jog, gymmimg etc... keep doing it and never give up!
Reply:You have an eating disorder. Most people do, to some degree. It's hard, but try to accept yourself. If you can't, try to get help. You can email me anytime, I'm in the same boat as you right now.
Reply:you aren't fat at all. i'm surprised you think so
Reply:been there hon..talk to some one older about it..and just eat healthy and excercise
Reply:when i read this i could not believe it...u sound just like me. the only diff is i'm 5'6" and weigh 123. and instead of soccer, track and all of that stuff, i dance.

i always feel like this so i understand what u are going through. all u can do is eat healthy and exercise. i used to constantly freak out about counting calories until a friend just told me "live your life" i kno that sounds super cheesy but the truth is life is short. do u really want to spend it thinking about calories and obsessing over weight?? again, i kno what u are feeling b/c i feel it too, but sometimes u just need to be thankful for what u do have in life.

hope this helps :)
Reply:At 5'6 your ideal weight would be 130 lbs so your weight at 120 lbs is fine and you don't need to lose any weight.

There is nothing wrong with checking your weight once or twice a day like every morning and/or every night. If your weight starts to creep up a bit you could eat a bit less for the next few days to get back to normal. An obsession with your weight is perhaps quite a good obsession.

Lots of sport is good for toning and you are doing exactly that.

The only problem that I can see is that you may perhaps create a lot of problems for yourself if you become anorexic and you get too carried away with losing weight that you don't need to lose and perhaps can't even spare.
Reply:Man... don't worry. I was the same way, only I was even heavier. When I was that age, I was 140 pounds. Its not healthy to be so concerned about your weight. I am currently underweight due to medicinal side effects, and I fight to keep myself at the normal BMI for my body by building muscle mass, although my body type is fine anyway. A lot of this could be inherent, and cannot be helped. Ask a doctor. But over anything else, have some confidence in your body, and try to exercise regularly and eat a healthy, balanced diet rich in vegetables and fruits. I strive to do just that, by eating a minimum of 7 servings a day and running three days a week and fencing two days. Love the sport:).
