Obsessive compulsive disorder?

I think I might have a mild form of obsessive compulsive disorder, to do with hygien.. I spend nearly 25 mins in the shower everyday washing my hair and body, is this too long? I've seen programmes about OCD on tv and I'm not like that, it's not like a scrub myself until I bleed or anything, its just i think my hair would still be greasy and my body would smell if I didnt spend that long in the shower. All my friends only take 5 mins in the shower but I just couldnt feel clean after that long! I tried it once and my hair still felt dirty and I could still smell sweat of my body. is anybody else like this? cuz everyone says 25 mins is too long in the shower, is it? how long do you take?

Obsessive compulsive disorder?
I wouldn't worry about how long other people take in the shower. If you don't feel clean then, by all means, stay in there until you do!

OCD is usually diagnosed only when it interferes with your daily life and inhibits your ability to function with day to day activities. I definately don't think you have OCD.

Hey, I like a nice long shower too...it helps me unwind!

Tell your friends not to be jealous just because you smell better than they do! :)
Reply:I WASH MY HANDS EVERY 15 minites so i am on the same boat as u
Reply:If that is the only thing, probably not. You are just a clean freak. If you had OCD, you would be worried about hygiene all day, constantly cleaning yourself. 1 25min shower a day is nothing to worry about.
Reply:That doesn't sound like OCD to me. You just want to be good and clean. I spend 30 mins in the shower usually. If you obsess over the thought of being dirty and take several 25 minute showers a day, then you might have a touch of OCD.

I think I may have it a little though because I constantly swab my ears with qtips. I know they aren't dirty, and they don't itch or anything. But it relaxes me and I do it at least 5 times a day.

Weird.
Reply:I don't believe you have OCD. Some people with oily hair and skin do actually have a stronger smell. With oily hair and skin you tend to absorb more smells from your environment. Because of oily skin bacteria may grow faster causing a stronger scent. Try using a clarifying shampoo to remove more oil from your hair and a bacterial soap. You should notice a difference in a couple days.
